The 7th International Congress on Research in Applied Linguistics, organized in collaboration with Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, the Association of International Education Researchers, and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, was inaugurated on September 28, 2023, hosted by Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, both in-person and online.

As part of the activities of the Turkic World Research Center, Prof. Dr. Yusuf Avcı and Hasibe Gül Doğan presented a paper titled 'A Comparison of the Writing Languages in the Daily Newspapers "Sabah" in Istanbul and "Hürriyet" in Tashkent in 1918 from a Turkish Language Perspective.'

In this study, two texts, each about 500 words, were selected from "Sabah Newspaper," published in the capital of the Ottoman Empire, Istanbul, and "Hürriyet Newspaper," published in Tashkent, one of the ancient cities of Turkic-Islamic culture in Turkestan. These texts were analyzed using document analysis to compare their linguistic features.
